Steeles Branch Mitigation Bank Franklin County, Kentucky The primary objective of this stream mitigation project is to enhance and then preserve streams that are considered “waters of the U.S.” within the watershed to provide compensatory mitigation credits in advance of authorized impacts in the Commonwealth of Kentucky within the jurisdiction of the Louisville Corps District.

Stream Mitigation Bank Fisheries Study
Last month we performed a fisheries study at a stream mitigation bank site. This data is being used to determine the Biotic Integrity Index to help measure the success of the restoration project. Populations of multiple fish species were found in pools just like these throughout the project.
